Birthing the Antichrist

About this list

Pregnancy is a body surrendering itself to make room for another life — an idea horror can twist into pure dread when that life is something unholy. The genre returns again and again to the woman made a vessel against her will, her body conscripted to deliver evil into the world. This is a list for films where a pregnancy is hijacked to birth the antichrist or a demon; for the monstrous mother she may become afterward, see The Monstrous Mother.
