Careful What You Wish For

About this list

Desire is its own kind of haunting. Horror has always loved the bargain that pays out exactly as promised and ruins everything anyway — the wish granted, the deal honored, the prayer answered by something that was listening. This is a list for films where a wish or bargain collects a monstrous price; if the curse can only be shed by passing it to someone else, see Passing the Curse Along.
