Isolation Madness

About this list

The human animal isn't built for true solitude, and horror knows exactly where that fault line runs. Seal a person into a lighthouse, an outpost, a snowbound hotel, and the real monster turns out to be the mind itself, unraveling in the absence of anyone to anchor it. This is a list for films where isolation erodes a character's sanity; if a creature is doing the hunting, see Trapped with the Creature.
