This film really brought home to me how much heavy lifting Clint Mansell's scores have, in my opinion, done for previous films by Aronofsky. Mostly though, I hate the way in which his screenplay layers three different allegorical messages (biblical; ecological; auteurist) onto each other and then has to pretend that they're the same in order for the film to be thematically coherent.
