Ben Baird is an award winning sound designer and re-recording mixer. He is known for Conclave (2024), Lady Macbeth (2016) and The Wonder (2022).
Starting out in the Sound Effects Library at North London’s Sound Development Studios in 1989, Ben soon moved into the mix studio working on both scripted and non-scripted content. In 1997 Ben set up Aquarium Studios, a Sound Design and Post Production Facility based in the heart of Soho, which is still his home after 26 years. With the Aquarium Team behind him, Ben is now a highly sought after Sound Designer and re-recording Mixer, and has been rewarded with 3 BAFTA’s, 1 BIFA and in 2022 an Emmy. In 2017 Aquarium also opened a facility in Brussels, Belgium where Ben spends a lot of time mixing. Ben’s Recent Credits include Edward Berger’s Conclave, John Maclean’s Tornado, Daniel Kokotajlo’s Starve Acre, Rob Morgan’s Stopmotion, Sebastian Lelio’s Disobedience and The Wonder, Charlotte Regan’s Scrapper, as well as The Great Escaper starring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson, and James Marsh’s Samuel Beckett biopic Dance First. In documentary, credits include Jerry Rothwell’s The Reason I Jump and Sam Blair’s Ronnie O’Sullivan:The Edge of Everything. Ben has completed numerous High End TV Drama series including Prime Suspect, Merlin, Ripper Street, and more recently The Lazarus Project, War of The Worlds and Paris Has Fallen.
