Yutaka Yamada is a Los Angeles-based music composer known for his work on the anime series "Tokyo Ghoul", Amazon Prime's "VINLAND SAGA", Netflix’s “Great Pretender” and major Netflix series "Alice in Borderland". His masterpiece soundtracks for "Tokyo Ghoul" have gained worldwide popularity with related videos totaling over 130 million views on Youtube.

​In 2018, Yamada composed for "Cry Me a Sad River", a Chinese film which had succeeded with USD $51Mil. In the same year, Eminem sampled Yamada's masterpiece "Glassy Sky (from "Tokyo Ghoul")" on his song "Good Guy" in his "Kamikaze" album. In 2019, he worked alongside Sony Pictures for their mega-hit live-action film "KINGDOM" in which he received the 43rd Japan Academy Film Prize for Outstanding Music Score. In 2020, Yamada collaborated with WIT STUDIO again on their original series "GREAT PRETENDER". He had also worked with Riot Games for Spirit Blossom, a League of Legends film project. In 2021, his score for Netflix’s “GREAT PRETENDER” was nominated for both Crunchyroll Anime Awards: Best Score and Best Opening.

​Born in 1989, Yamada graduated from Senzoku Gakuen College of Music where he passionately studied musical composition. In 2009, he entered and won the first prize at VIENNA INSTRUMENTS Strings Arrangement Contest. Today, he is represented by Soundtrack Music Associates, and has since relocated his production base from Tokyo to Sonic Fuel Studios in Los Angeles.
